They don’t need a lot of chances or a lot of shots, but when they get them, they’ve got some good shooters on that team that can put them in.”Ovechkin’s 11th goal of the season was his 234th career on the power play, tying him with Marcel Dionne for eighth on the career list. John Carlson’s point shot banked off two Edmonton defenders and right to Ovechkin in his usual spot in the faceoff circle.“I was only here for a year, but I’ve seen him score about 20 from there,” said Oilers forward Alex Chiasson, who won the Cup with Capitals last season. “Kind of an unfortunate bounce for us. … Out of 600 and something (goals), he’s probably scored half of them from there Adidas Jaycob Megna Jersey , so he’s familiar with that spot.”Oilers captain Connor McDavid extended his point streak to eight games with his 10th goal of the season. He benefited from playing behind an angry Capitals team that blew a lead last week at Montreal and was eager to get back on track.“Everyone kind of buckled down,” Copley said. “They blocked a lot of shots. ARLINGTON Jonathan Bernier Jersey Womens , Va. (AP) Like tourists flocking to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom, the Pittsburgh Penguins making a trip to Washington in the playoffs has become a rite of spring. The Penguins and Capitals will face off in the second round for the third consecutive year with the core groups changed only slightly from past battles. Back-to-back Stanley Cup-champion Pittsburgh still has playoff MVPs Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, and Washington still has stars Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom trying to make the Eastern Conference final for the first time.”We faced each other for a lot of games, and we should know each other right now inside out,” Backstrom said. ”That’s just how it is. It’s usually tight series and one-goal games. We’re excited about this one.”It’s hard not to get the ”Groundhog Day” feeling about these teams meeting for the fourth time in the past 10 years. The Penguins won the previous three series despite not having home-ice advantage, twice winning Game 7 in Washington on the way to capturing the Stanley Cup.But this year is different in many ways, most notably on the Pittsburgh injury front. Malkin and winger Carl Hagelin will miss Game 1 on Thursday night in Washington. Coach Mike Sullivan said Malkin will travel, making him a possibility to play in Game 2 this weekend after missing the end of the Philadelphia series with an apparent lower-body injury.”I think guys have to step up in different roles maybe,” Crosby said. ”I don’t think anybody has to put too much pressure on themselves. Collectively we can find ways and those are guys who aren’t easy to replace, but that’s what we’re faced with.”A year after the last series between these two division rivals, gone from the Penguins are forwards Nick Bonino, Chris Kunitz and Matt Cullen, defensemen Trevor Daley, Ian Cole and Ron Hainsey and goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury. Gone from the Capitals are forwards Justin Williams, Marcus Johansson and Daniel Winnik and defensemen Nate Schmidt Mike Reilly Jersey , Karl Alzner and Kevin Shattenkirk.”They have different personnel, we have different personnel,” said Penguins defenseman Kris Letang, who’s back after missing the 2017 playoffs because of neck surgery. ”The series is going to play out differently. The game is going to be won differently. You don’t know how it is going to go.”Pittsburgh, trying for a rare championship threepeat, has won nine of 10 all-time series against Washington, many of which predate current players and coaches. But Capitals coach Barry Trotz said it’s ”fitting” his team must again go through its nemesis to advance.Asked why this year the outcome will be different, Ovechkin said: ”I don’t know. One day, it have to happen. If we want to get success, we have to beat Pittsburgh and move forward.”SID VS. OVICrosby has won 44 of the 70 previous games against Ovechkin in the NHL regular season and playoffs, world junior championships, world championships, World Cup and Olympics. There may not be another dueling hat tricks game like the one in the 2009 playoffs, but Crosby and Ovechkin are red hot going into their latest showdown. Pittsburgh was a middling 17th during the regular season (80 percent) but killed 90.5 percent of Philadelphia’s power plays in the opening round. Washington scored just once with the man advantage in four regular season meetings with the Penguins, who kept Ovechkin in check.”You have to reduce his time,” Letang said. ”You don’t want him to have all kinds of time to really use that puck.”MURRAY’S METTLEPenguins goaltender Matt Murray won the Cup twice as a ”rookie” by NHL standards after backstopping the Penguins to titles in 2016 and 2017. He missed all of Pittsburgh’s playoff series against Washington, however, while recovering from a lower-body injury. The 23-year-old has been up and down against Washington in his brief career and is coming off a Philadelphia series in which he flip-flopped between great (two shutouts) and not-so great (allowing four-or-more goals twice). Still, Murray has never lost a playoff series he’s played in, and even after giving up four quick goals in the first 21 minutes of Game 6 against Philadelphia, he limited the Flyers to just one the rest of the way to give his teammates time to rally.HOLTBY DIALED INCapitals goaltender Braden Holtby allowed six goals on 35 shots through the first two games of the Penguins series last year before getting his game back together. The Preds scored three of their four goals in the second period. Why the Golden Knights can pay on the NHL oddsVegas may have suffered a hangover on Monday in a 4-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild after routing the Pittsburgh Penguins 7-3 on Saturday. The Golden Knights headed into the third period tied 2-2 with the Wild but surrendered what turned out to be the game-winning goal to Charlie Coyle at the 14:29 mark before an empty-netter with 13 seconds remaining finished the scoring. The Golden Knights dropped just their fifth game of the season in regulation time at T-Mobile Arena after winning five of their previous six there. Vegas has lost consecutive home games only twice this year, so the odds are against that scenario happening in this spot. Predators vs. Golden Knights NHL betting pickDespite beating the Penguins badly recently, the Golden Knights are still just 3-9 versus the Top 10 teams in the league and 9-12-1 against playoff teams. DENVER (AP) Now that was more of the start Nashville was looking for. The finish? Not as much.Filip Forsberg scored another creative goal Anton Khudobin Jersey Womens , Pekka Rinne rebounded from a rocky performance with 31 saves, and the Predators withstood a furious rally by the Colorado Avalanche for a 3-2 win in Game 4 on Wednesday night to take a 3-1 lead in the first-round series.”I guess probably some teams, every once in a while, can say everything is perfect. Everything is awesome,” Predators coach Peter Laviolette said. ”But most times you’re trying to work on something, trying to get better at something.”For the first time all series, the Avs were held scoreless in the opening period and the Predators built a 3-0 cushion heading into the final period.Colton Sissons and Craig Smith also scored for the Predators, who can close out the series Friday when it shifts back to Nashville for Game 5.”We don’t want it to end at all,” Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon said. ”We’re still in it. It’s not over yet.”Rinne was solid early after being pulled from the last game. Cruising along and up 3-0, the Vezina Trophy finalist allowed Gabriel Landeskog’s 5-on-3 power-play goal in the third and another on Alexander Kerfoot’s tap-in off a rebound with 8:59 remaining.Colin Wilson nearly tied with about 2 minutes left when his shot appeared to hit the post. The Avalanche pulled backup goalie Andrew Hammond late, but couldn’t get the tying goal. Tyson Jost sent a shot over the net at the buzzer.”It was a good push by them,” Forsberg said.Forsberg worked his puck-handling magic in the first period by dancing around defenseman Duncan Siemens and juking Jonathan Bernier for his third goal of the series. The ever-creative Forsberg had an artistic goal in Game 1 as well, when he sent the puck through the defenseman’s legs before scoring.”Just tried to use my speed wide and use that speed all the way around the net Wade Megan Jersey Womens ,” Forsberg said.Bernier allowed three goals on 26 shots before being replaced by Hammond to start the third period due to a lower body injury. Hammond had eight saves.Forsberg and his crew came out with a little more spring in their skates for Game 4. This may have played a role: The team went through an up-tempo practice the day before. It was a way to avoid a sluggish start like Monday when Colorado scored three times in the first period of Game 3.The strategy worked. Nashville controlled the tempo except for a frenzied stretch in the third.”We knew we weren’t going to go 16-0,” Forsberg said. ”We were going to lose a game throughout these playoffs and obviously we were just looking to bounce back.”Now, the Avs are looking to regroup.”I’m obviously upset at the result, but I loved our third, there’s no question,” Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said. ”But we need to find that urgency earlier.”There was a scary moment in the second period when MacKinnon’s stick caught teammate Mikko Rantanen near the eye. Rantanen left with a towel pressed against his face, only to return a few minutes later. But not before the Predators scored another goal as Smith zoomed out of the penalty box and beat Bernier with a wrist shot to make it 3-0.From there, things turned a little testy. Landeskog hit a tumbling Ryan Johansen, who headed to the dressing room. He returned in the third period.P.K. Subban got the crowd fired up early by shooting a puck into Colorado’s net in the pregame warmups. He’s stepped into the villain’s role after delivering a blow to the side of MacKinnon’s helmet during Game 3. Subban was booed each time he touched the puck. The Predators came out firing on all cylinders, even going on an early 5-on-3 power play for 1:20. They but couldn’t get anything past Bernier, but they did knock Bernier’s mask momentarily out of commission when Viktor Arvidsson’s slap shot caught him square him in the cage. Bernier skated over to the bench to grab his backup one. He later returned to his original one.NOTES: Predators F Calle Jarnkrok returned after missing the last 16 games with an upper-body injury. … Rinne felt honored to be a finalist for the award that goes to the league’s top goaltender. ”Even though it’s an individual award, I couldn’t do it without my teammates,” he said. … Avs D Samuel Girard missed a third straight game with an upper-body injury. … Avs F Carl Soderberg took a bit hit from RW Ryan Hartman in the third that drew a charging penalty.— COLUMBUS Tobias Rieder Jersey Womens , Ohio (AP) — Leon Draisaitl and the Edmonton Oilers jumped all over the listless Columbus Blue Jackets.Draisaitl had a goal and two assists, Mikko Koskinen made 30 saves and the Oilers beat the Blue Jackets 4-0 on Saturday.“It was another good team performance,” coach Ken Hitchcock said. “You don’t have to have the best players in the league to be successful, you need to have the best team, and that’s what we’re proving night in and night out. We’ve got a hell of a team going on right now, and we’re not going to let go of the rope.”Columbus had won three of four, including a high-energy overtime victory against Philadelphia on Thursday night. The Blue Jackets are fighting to stay above the wild-card line in the Eastern Conference, but they were off right from the start against Edmonton.“The way we played, the way we turned the puck over in the neutral zone, their guys had it easy, I think,” Columbus defenseman Seth Jones said. “We didn’t have any sustained forecheck, we didn’t make their top lines play defense Mike Hoffman Jersey Womens , I thought, for long stretches of the night. That’s what they want.”Columbus coach John Tortorella’s postgame session with reporters lasted all of 36 seconds.“I’m not going to pick it apart,” he said. “We’re moving right by it.”Zack Kassian, Josh Currie and Alex Chiasson also scored for the Oilers, who are 4-1-1 since a five-game losing streak. Connor McDavid had three assists.Koskinen improved to 18-15-4 with his fourth career shutout — all this season.Sergei Bobrovsky had 15 saves for Columbus before he was pulled after two periods. Draisaitl became the third NHL player to reach 40 goals this season Peter Budaj Jersey Womens , behind only Washington’s Alex Ovechkin and Chicago’s Patrick Kane.Chiasson broke a 21-game goal drought when he scored the Oilers’ fourth late in the second, eliciting boos from the Nationwide Arena crowd.“What, is there 17 games left?” Chaisson said. “We’re all playing 17 playoff games. For us, we can’t look too forward. We have to focus on what we can control. With that mind set, and we keep our energy level up and everyone is buying in and playing the right way, we have a chance.”Hitchcock said Edmonton is reaping the benefits of great team play for about the past month and believes his team is in striking distance for a Western Conference playoff spot.“If you keep playing at this level,” he said, “eventually the hockey gods help you out.”NOTES: Draisaitl is 32nd Edmonton player to have a 40-plus goal season. UNIONDALE Lars Eller Jersey , N.Y. — The Detroit Red Wings will be playing on short rest Saturday night. The New York Islanders might be playing with long memories. The two teams will square off for the second straight Saturday when the Islanders host the Red Wings at Nassau Coliseum. It will be the New York’s third game at the Coliseum since it began splitting home contests between Barclays Center in Brooklyn and the Coliseum, where the franchise played from 1972 through the 2014-15 season. Both teams are coming off losses. The Red Wings will be playing the second game of a back-to-back set after falling Friday night to the visiting Ottawa Senators, 4-2. The Islanders last played Wednesday, when they lost to the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 at Barclays Center.Article continues below ...However, there’s a pretty good chance the Islanders will be thinking more about their previous game against the Red Wings than the loss to the Golden Knights. The Islanders (14-12-4) overcame a two-goal, first-period deficit to beat the Red Wings 3-2 at Little Caesars Arena on Dec. 8. The comeback was fueled after Detroit defenseman Niklas Kronwall delivered a blindside hit to New York captain Anders Lee, who needed eight stitches over his left eyebrow and lip to close his wounds.Normally mild-mannered Islanders center Josh Bailey responded by crashing into Kronwall and fighting with center Dylan Larkin. Later in the game, 34-year-old New York defenseman Johnny Boychuk tussled with Detroit defenseman Jonathan Ericsson.Islanders head coach Barry Trotz told reporters he would leave any further actions up to his players, though he noted, “Players have long memories.” Lee seemed to back up that notion.“We’re going to bring it like we always do, and if there needs to be a response or anything like that we’re ready to do it Madison Bowey Jersey , as (they would) be,” Lee told reporters. “I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s going to carry over, but it was just a week ago, too, I guess.”Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said following Friday night’s game he wasn’t concerned with the possibility that the Islanders might be seeking further retribution. “We’ve got to go win the hockey game. we can’t worry about anything else,” Blashill said. “If they want to worry about extracurricular stuff, then let them worry about it. We’ve got to win a hockey game. We had an opportunity here to win at home and we didn’t win it, so we’ve got to go find a way to win (Saturday).”The Red Wings and Islanders have at least one thing in common: They’re both on the outside looking in on the Eastern Conference playoff picture and in need of a victory Saturday night. Detroit has lost five of seven (2-4-1) while New York has dropped six of eight (2-4-2).Red Wings number one goalie Jimmy Howard started and took the loss Friday, when he made 28 saves, so backup Jonathan Bernier will likely be in net Saturday. Bernier last played Tuesday, when he took the loss and was chased after allowing five goals on just 15 shots over two periods as Detroit fell to the Washington Capitals 6-2.The Islanders haven’t announced a starter yet Nicklas Backstrom Jersey , but Thomas Greiss would seem to be in line to start after Robin Lehner played the last two games. Greiss hasn’t played since he earned the win against Detroit by recording 23 saves. Bernier is 4-5-3 in 12 career appearances against the Islanders. Greiss is 4-2-1 in nine games against the Red Wings. WASHINGTON (AP) — Auston Matthews‘ scoring has helped carry the Toronto Maple Leafs early this season. The Leafs’ defense and depth were the difference Saturday against Washington.Fourth-liner Josh Leivo scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period, Frederick Andersen made 25 saves and the Maple Leafs beat the Capitals 4-2.Moments after Andersen made several solid saves to preserve the lead, Matthews scored an insurance goal with 1:39 to play, his NHL-leading 10th of the season.Kasperi Kapanen had a goal and an assist and third-line winger Par Lindholm also scored for Toronto, which has won four straight to complete a perfect four-game road trip. Jake Gardiner had two assists.“Obviously, it’s great that our big guys got off to a real good start because I think having them feeling good is so important,” Toronto coach Mike Babcock said. “I’ve been saying that part of the reason we’re going to have success is because we have real good depth.”Matthews, who added an assist, has scored a goal in all six games this season and has multiple points in each. He also has four assists and joined Sweeny Schriner (1944-45) as the only Maple Leafs to score a goal and have multiple points in the first six games of the season.Toronto tied the game late in the second and controlled play for much of the final 20 minutes.“I think Freddie kept us in the game with some big saves,” Matthews said. “I think the third period we just played in their end for the most part. Had them hemmed in and made some plays.”Evgeny Kuznetsov scored his fourth goal of the season for Washington and added an assist. Chandler Stephenson also scored and Alex Ovechkin had two assists.Washington unleashed a sustained flurry late in the third period but couldn’t get the equalizer. We had a lot of quality opportunities,” Capitals coach Todd Reirden said. “You know 3-4 minutes to go there we make a real good push and (Andersen) makes a number of saves and the puck stays out of the net. They were pushing at the end there and they end up being able to convert on a bit of a bounce that went their way.”Braden Holtby made 24 saves for Washington. It took Washington just 18 seconds to take a 1-0 lead. The Dallas Cowboys are best known as "America's team" because they appear on televisions across the country and their faces are very familiar to the general public Will Grier Jersey , even if the lady or gentleman isn't a diehard NFL fan. However, you might disagree with this all-American belief, as there are other teams, like, say, the Green Bay Packers that better fit into the stereotypical ideal due to their plethora of fans who travel well and not just attend home games. But, anyways, the Cowboys continue to be one of the most historic franchises in all of professional sports, so let me dive into a Cowboys-related topic right now.Like many other pro teams, the Cowboys have a rich history, but not all the previous players and coaches will be remembered by the average NFL fan on the street. There have been plenty of folks who went AWOL for whatever reason it may be, and no one really heard anything about them ever again. But, that's the sporting life, and not everyone will get the good things that they've ask for. With all that said, here's my take on the 20 NFL players that everyone forgets played for the Cowboys. As always http://www.panthersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-christian-miller-jersey , feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section. Enjoy my list! Happy reading! Austin Bibens-Dirkx earned his first victory of the season, shutting down a struggling Kansas City Royals squad that’s wondering when it will get its next win.

Bibens-Dirkx pitched effectively into the seventh inning, Rougned Odor homered and the Texas Rangers extended their winning streak to a season-high five games with a 3-2 victory Wednesday night.

Bibens-Dirkx (1-1) allowed one run and five hits in 6 2/3 innings for his first win since last Sept. 6 in a relief appearance at Atlanta – and sent the Royals to their ninth straight loss.

”The first two starts didn’t quite go as I had wanted,” Bibens-Dirkx said, ”so to get another opportunity and to come out here and do what I feel like I can do on a pretty consistent basis was nice.”

Kansas City’s slump is its longest this season, and the Royals have dropped 15 of 16 overall and been outscored 102-38 while losing 16 of 18 in June. Their worst June in franchise history was 7-19 in 1970, the team’s second year in existence. The Royals will wind up June with nine games against the Astros, Angels, Brewers and Mariners, clubs above .500.

Bibens-Dirkx, a 33-year-old right-hander, spent 12 years in the minors, including two seasons with independent league teams before making his big league debut last year. He was called up to replace Yohander Mendez, who was sent to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday after violating team rules.

Jake Diekman worked the ninth for his second save, but not before yielding a leadoff homer to Mike Moustakas. The game ended when Hunter Dozier was thrown out at second on a delayed steal.

”It’s perfect timing Jordan Scarlett Jersey ,” Royals manager Ned Yost said to steal. ”You probably haven’t noticed that we’ve been having trouble bunching some hits together. It’s a chance to maybe hopefully catch them by surprise and get into scoring position and one hit will tie the ballgame up and keep us going.”

Yost acknowledged that Isiah Kiner-Falefa making his first big league start behind the plate factored into the decision to send Dozier. His throw nearly hit Diekman in the head.

”It was kind of scary, a crazy, crazy way to end the game,” Kiner-Falefa said. ”It worked out. Everything worked out. That was close. I was kind of in shock that he was out. I was just glad it didn’t hit Jake, honestly. I tried to adjust my throw last second and saw it bounce, but that was close.”

Diekman just avoided being hit.

”I was shocked – that the ball was thrown, that he was running at all – but it was my bad for not getting out of the way,” Diekman said. ”It ended the game and it didn’t hit me, so we’re good.”

Odor homered into the Royals’ bullpen with two outs in the sixth on a 1-2 pitch from Royals starter Jakob Junis, who has lost his last five starts and has not won since May 18. Junis (5-8) has given up 19 home runs to tie for the American League lead. He allowed three runs and five hits with four walks and a hit batter.

”I’ve given up a lot of home runs this year,” Junis said. ”It’s something I’m conscious about. I’m trying to keep in the ball park because when I do that’s when I have more success. I can’t pinpoint on it on one exact thing.”

Shin-Soo Choo led off the game with a single, extending his on-base streak to 34 games. He stole second, moved to third on Elvis Andrus‘ high chopper back to Junis and scored on Nomar Mazara’s fly out to center,

The Rangers loaded the bases with no outs in the second on singles by Jurickson Profar and Odor and Joey Gallo’s first of three walks. The Rangers, however David Montgomery Jersey , converted that into only one run when Kiner-Falefa grounded into a double play.

Alex Gordon singled with one out in the Kansas City second and scored on Dozier’s double.

HYPHENATED BATTERYMATES

Bibens-Dirkx and Kiner-Falefa became the first starting pitcher and catcher in big league history with hyphenated last names.

WHO’S CLOSING?

After the Royals traded closer Kelvin Herrera to Washington, who will inherit that role? ”All of them,” Yost said of his relievers. ”Opportunity exists down there. We’ll have to see who takes advantage of it. I’ll look at different guys, but I would prefer one guy to emerge, take advantage of the opportunity. But it’s wide-open right now.”

TRAINER’S ROOM

Rangers: LHP Martin Perez (elbow discomfort) threw batting practice to C Robinson Chirinos and OF Carlos Tocci. He is hopeful to begin a minor league rehab assignment Monday. ”There were some quality pitches inside the set, like a guy that was getting ready to take the next step of the rehab process,” Banister said. … RHP Chris Martin (right calf strain) also threw to hitters. He is eligible to come off the disabled list Friday. ”He’s close,” Banister said.
